According to the investigation, the accused were allegedly using an online platform to prepare and distribute fake government identity documents, including Aadhaar cards and Voter Identity Cards, along with other forged documents. The operation came to light after the police conducted a dummy operation, during which officers successfully obtained a counterfeit Aadhaar card and a fake Voter Identity Card by paying just Rs 100.
Following the successful test operation, investigators carried out a technical analysis that led them to the accused. Acting on the findings, the Delhi Police arrested two individuals from Daman and Diu and Patna in connection with the interstate forgery network.
During the operation, the police seized laptops, mobile phones, the source code of the online platform, customer data, and other digital records believed to be linked to the illegal activities. Officials are continuing the investigation to determine the full extent of the network and identify any additional individuals involved.
The case has exposed a serious threat involving the alleged online sale of forged government identity documents at a nominal cost, raising significant concerns over identity fraud and document security. Authorities have intensified the investigation to uncover the complete scope of the racket and its wider connections.
